KneP: Buy the terrible

Knut Knutsonthe antique expert we all recognize from SVT’s “Antikrundan”, has previously told Svenska Dagbladet about his tips for finding objects that can be worth a lot in the future.

– My rule is to buy things that are questioned today. Much of the design that people thought was terrible when it was manufactured, it will be most typical when you look back. There will also be things that people buy and collect.

For example, if you shop at auction, it is important to buy things that no one is interested in at all because it is so outdated – it may prove to be very valuable in the future, says Knut Knutson.

-When people asked me the same question in the 70s, I said joking that they would buy teak furniture that then did not cost anything. I said: Rent a barn and set them there and the pension is saved. I didn’t know how right I was.

Keep the item in top condition and buy first edition

When it comes to technology, such as mobiles and computers, it is important to get hold of the first edition of a special product.

For example, an iPhone 4 GB, one of Apple’s first mobile phones, was sold for a staggering SEK 1.4 million at auction, something News24 Previously rewritten.

It is also important that the early edition is still in top condition and has its original packaging – then it can be extra valuable in the future, Knut Knutson has explained for Svenska Dagbladet.
