Sarah Sjöström is truly one of Swedish sports’ greats.
Now the 29-year-old reveals which is her absolute favorite team in all sports.
– My father, older brother and also my fiance keep them, says the Swedish swimming star in a new interview.
There is no medal that Sarah Sjostrom not yet conquered. She is truly one of Swedish sports’ absolute best of all time and a pure giant in swimming.
Sjöström’s greatness
With an incredible 1 Olympic gold, 16 World Cup gold, 29 European Championship gold and a total of 89 championship medals over the years, Sjöström has achieved more than most can only dream of. At 29 years old, she is not completely satisfied yet and has set up a bet to compete for Sweden in the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

But in order to find motivation and energy for it, the Swedish swimming star has chosen to take a break from swimming right now. That still doesn’t stop her from continuing to have sports as a big part of her everyday life, and in addition to the swimming pool, Sjöström also has a big favorite team that her heart beats extra hard for.
Sarah’s favorite team
Recently, the 29-year-old visited the football program “Footbollsmorgon” and talked about his unexpected interest in the sport of football and revealed that his favorite team is AIK. Sarah grew up in Stockholm and says that she got her love for the black and yellow team from the capital from her closest family members.
– My father and older brother are loyal AIK fans. And so am I, because of them. You have accompanied them to matches and seen a lot on TV. My fiancé, Johan (de Jong Skierus), is from Solna and also attends AIK, she says in the program, see below.

Sjöström admits that she both likes watching football and also playing football. But she doesn’t really want to call herself a full-fledged football fan.
– I have followed it a little, but I am not a football geek who follows it every weekend. I love playing football even though I’m really bad at it, I’m good at taking the ball from others but then I don’t know what to do with the ball, she says about her own ball sense, see the video below.
Already in 2015, AIK drew attention to the fact that the Swedish swimming star, who was then 21 years old and ready to take over the world, has a black and yellow heart.
“One of the world’s fastest swimmers is of course at AIK. Sarah Sjöström is only 21 years old, but already has more world records and WC gold than very many others. A real AIK:er in other words!”, they wrote in a post on Facebook.
