Earlier this year, some state governors began sending migrant buses to the nation’s capital, after the Biden administration tried to repeal a pandemic-era policy that allowed the US to deny entry to immigrants. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said his state deliberately busses immigrants to cities of refuge where law enforcement has been deterred from deporting immigrants.

MORE THAN 100 MIGRANTS LOADED ON THE BUS
Tatiana Laborde, executive director of SAMU First Response, a charity that works with Washington DC, said Texas authorities had taken buses of about 110-130 immigrants seeking asylum in the United States, most of them families with children.
3 BUS IN ONE NIGHT
A total of three busloads of immigrants arrived at the Marine Observatory, where Harris lives, on Saturday evening, WTOP reported.
According to a management official, the first two bus loads were taken to local shelters. Later on Saturday evening, another bus arrived outside the vice president’s residence.
THEY WERE ONLY IN T-SHIRT IN THE COLD CAUSED LOSS OF LIFE
In the freezing weather, some immigrants were seen wearing only T-shirts. The immigrants were given blankets and put on another bus to a local church.
Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network, a local community movement, came together to help poorly dressed migrants in freezing temperatures.
“WE ARE SEEING AN INCREASE RECENTLY”
Nine busloads of immigrants were dropped off in Washington last week, Laborde said.
“Recently, we see an increase in the number of people coming from Ecuador and Colombia,” said Laborde, adding that many Venezuelans have come by bus before.
Many of the most recent arrivals are currently trying to get to New York or New Jersey, where they have relatives or other community support, Laborde said.
