Province of Utrecht – Too little salary, killer duty rosters, too short breaks, absenteeism due to illness, an aging population, ride cancellations. According to the FNV, it is a mess in city and regional transport and that is why bus drivers and tram drivers are on strike today. The province of Utrecht must take more control and can play a key role in solving the problems, according to the union. There are certainly two options: to solve the personnel problems, the province, as the client, should either have to pay the bill or extend the tendering period.
