Bus caught fire on the E6 at Ängelholm – passengers evacuated

Just before ten on Friday morning, the police and emergency services were alerted to the E6 at Ängelholm, where a southbound bus had started to catch fire.

According to the rescue service northwest Skåne, the bus stopped in the roadway and discovered the fire.

– We have had a fire in an engine compartment in a bus. There were open flames, but the fire is now out, says Peter Hjort, on-duty commander of the rescue service in northwestern Scania.

The passengers have had to be evacuated and according to the rescue service, it is about 40 people. They are now waiting to be transported onward.
