During yesterday, the surface water of the Mediterranean Sea reached the highest temperature ever measured.
According to the Institut de Ciències del Mar in Barcelona, Thursday’s median temperature was 28.90 degrees, compared with the previous record of 28.71 degrees from July 2023.

The police received an alarm at 1pm that a person on an electric scooter and a motorist had collided in Frölunda in Gothenburg.
– We just arrived at the scene. The person has collided with a car, says August Brandt, police spokesperson.
– The person on the electric scooter may have suffered an injury to the head.
The police were called to E4 Bredäng for suspected drunk driving.
– An off-duty colleague reacted to the driving, when the off-duty colleague and the driver stopped, a threatening situation arose, says Daniel Wikdahl, police spokesperson.
The suspected drunk driver drove away from the scene.
Several emergency vehicles and a helicopter were called and chased after the driver.
– The suspected driver was arrested at the intersection between Huddingevägen and Gamla Huddingevägen.
Due to the confirmed case of mpox class 1, the government is calling its special crisis group, the group for strategic coordination, GSS, to a crisis meeting, according to data to SvD.
A man in his 40s expressed threats against a doctor at a healthcare facility in eastern Gothenburg, the police say.
The man is now suspected of threatening an official and vandalism.
He was removed from the scene by the police.
A rescue operation is underway in Sågsjön in Nacka.
This is a drowning alarm.
– We are there and looking. A diver and ambulance helicopter are on site and searching. We have been there for about five minutes, says Andreas Blomquist, the duty officer of the rescue service.
A man in his 20s was found badly injured in central Norrköping on Monday evening and later died in hospital.
Two men have now been requested to be detained in the case, one suspected of murder and the other suspected of aggravated weapons offences, the Prosecutor’s Office writes in a press release.
A kitchen accident has occurred on Route 70 just east of Avesta, the police say.
A motorist did not adjust the distance to the vehicle in front. Three motorists are involved in the accident.

A young man and a young woman in Great Britain are suspected of planning a terrorist act with far-right motives.
The two – an 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman – were recently arrested in the London area. On Thursday, they were formally charged with preparation for terrorist crimes.
London Police announces that its counter-terrorism unit has been working “proactively” to investigate suspected crimes linked to far-right terrorist activities.
“These are extremely serious allegations, but I would like to discourage the public from speculating further about the matter at this time and allow the legal process to take its course unhindered,” said counter-terrorism chief Dominic Murphy.
According to Murphy, there is no indication that there is any further threat to the public. The case is said to be unrelated to recent weeks of riots and xenophobic demonstrations in Britain.
On Friday morning, the police stopped a male motorist for a check on the E18 in the Örebro police area.
But after he escaped from the scene, a car chase began.
– We followed him into Arboga where he turned and drove out onto the E18 again in the direction of Örebro, says police spokesperson Anders Dahlman.
The pursuit then came to an abrupt end when the man drove into another motorist a little over a kilometer outside Örebro.
An ambulance has been called to the scene and is now checking the two drivers.
The extent of the injury is still unknown.
It is also unclear what the man who tried to evade the control will be investigated for.
– He will be suspected of a series of crimes, but which ones have not been clarified yet, says Anders Dahlman.
The collision must have greatly affected traffic.
A person is wanted in custody on probable cause suspected of murdering a man in his 40s in Linköping on Tuesday.
The two other people who were detained are released.
– The two people who have now been released are still suspects, but the suspicions have not been strengthened to the extent that there are reasons to request their detention, says prosecutor Emma Högström in a press release.
All three are aged 20 to 25.
The reality program “Berget” is now stopped after a person died during the recording, reports TV4 Nyheterna.
“On Thursday evening, TV4’s content management decided together with the production company Jarowskij that it is not the right time to continue the recording of Berget, which is therefore paused. The participants and the production team will leave the filming site on Friday and go home,” reads an internal message.
20 people are now charged with involvement in murder plans in Uppland’s Väsby during the winter of 2023.
It concerns, among other things, preparation or branding for murder, serious weapons crime and aiding and abetting those crimes.
– The success of the investigation is based on a combination of highly resourceful detective work, solid investigation and analysis work and successful use of coercive measures, says prosecutor Daniel Suneson in a press release.
Several of the defendants are in custody or placed in Sis homes.
The trial begins in early September.
On Friday morning, the police had an extensive operation in Bromma in northern Stockholm.
– It is a person who was beaten outdoors and who was taken to hospital with serious injuries, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.
According to information to Aftonbladet, he was beaten with a hammer.
The condition of the man, who is 35 years old, is considered unclear.
The perpetrator must have departed from the crime scene.
But police were later able to arrest a male suspect in his 40s, after gathering enough information to identify him.
He is now suspected of attempted murder.
