Eggs and bananas are commonly used in our kitchen as food, but they can also be usefully employed in our garden.
This may sound strange, because after all we are talking about very common food products. Still, eggs and bananas can do wonders for your plants, and using them in the garden doesn’t require you to be a gardening pro.
Many plants require a lot of care and nutrients, not to mention watering and sunlight. That’s why the tricks that allow you to improve the health of your plantations can be worth their weight in gold. We present here a trick very easy to implement. All you need are a few bananas and an egg.
Eggs are an excellent natural alternative to fertilizers in the soil. When they break down, they release nutrients into the soil that strengthen plant roots and prevent mildew. How about bananas? As is known, bananas are full of potassium, an essential nutrient for plants and humans. Potassium promotes the development of reserve organs (tubers, roots, fruits), as well as the coloring of fruits and flowers, while making plants more resistant to disease.
Here’s how
Take the flower pot of your choice or choose a suitable place in your flower bed. Put a layer of soil about five centimeters in it. Then place a raw egg in the center with a banana. Add another layer of soil and plant the plant of your choice. When the egg and banana eventually decompose in the soil, they will nourish the plant with nutrients that will literally make it thrive.
The trick works just as well in flower pots as it does in flower beds. Even better, you can use this trick in good conscience with bananas and eggs that have become too old and should have been thrown away. Now they really have a use!
