Burundi’s president: Homosexual couples should be stoned in sports arenas

The president’s tirade was accompanied by verbal attacks on Western countries trying to influence nations to allow same-sex marriage and homosexuality. Homosexuality has been banned in the East African country of Burundi since 2009, and is punishable by up to two years in prison. President Ndayishimiye, who is Catholic, aired his views in a televised public meeting. – Personally, I think we would force such individuals to a sports arena where we would stone them. There would be no sin in stoning them, the president said.
