In Burkina Faso, the church of Kaya is launching an appeal following the massacre in Barsalogho. On August 24, in this locality in the center-north of the country, nearly 200 people, including civilians who were helping the army build trenches, were killed during an attack by a jihadist group. In a pastoral message, the local bishop, who considers the humanitarian situation in the area to be “acute”, called for a day of reflection on August 28 and asked the population to continue to show solidarity.
