BURGOS – CARTAGENA Julián Calero: “We have to take the result as good”

BURGOS CF The renewals of Michu and Calero a priority

The Burgos coach analyzed at a press conference the difference between the first and second half in the game that ended in a draw against Cartagena (1-1): “There are eleven other players up front who are good and we could ask what happened to the Cartagena in the first part because we have been better. We have been very good for sixty minutes, the entire first part and the beginning of the second, I think we had him in the best situation after getting ahead on the scoreboard. We knew that they are a very offensive team, that they put a lot of people in front of the ball and that in transitions we could hurt them. They have had a good second half and they have surpassed us from the inside and that is why we have brought in Mumo to cover that area and, in the end, I think that given the merits of both of them, we must recognize that the result is fair, although we could have won either in an isolated action”

Burgos hoped to recover the effectiveness that they lacked against Almería. “When you have so many chances in the last games at El Plantío you always expect more revenue from every opportunity. We can generate arrivals to the rival area, but then it depends a lot on the players. Sometimes you are more successful, other times less and now we are not in that phase of success. The seasons are like that. We tried to keep a clean sheet and the game is typical of two teams that are in the same circumstances and we have to settle for a point because that’s what we have”.

Calero insisted on the level of the teams with which he is being measured in the stretch of the season: “We are playing against teams of a high level, with very good players and everything that is added at this point is good to finish at the top possible at the end of the championship”. The Burgos coach affirmed that the fans have been at the same level as other times: “I think they have been as always. They have a team in the second division competing like beasts. There’s no reason not to be hooked. It is normal that in the second part we have not transmitted much to them, but in those moments is when you need them the most. I’m not going to give any buts to my fans, the truth is that we are in a middle zone and that we have tried to offer them an entertaining game. I am delighted with them.”

By last, The Madrid coach recognized that his team will be a judge in the final two days against Malaga and Gerona: “Well, that’s how it is, we have to maintain correctness because the competition demands it of us and I don’t want there to be any doubt that the team is going to compete like it has all season. You have to have respect and dignity for the competition”.
