Coreborn: Nations of the Ultracore is in Early Access on Steam since July 18th and is based on a pen and paper adventure created by ex-Rocket Bean Hauke Gerdes. The survival MMO takes place in the open world of Tormentosia, where the last remaining nations are at war against world-eater Sorgoth.
What is Coreborn?
In the following video of a three-part developer interview, the city attacks are presented in more detail:
Once you have upgraded your village, Sorgoth’s minions will start attacking your home. Enemies appear in waves and you must defeat them.
So that you don’t have to fend off the monsters alone, you can invite friends (or even strangers) to your server. To do this, you visit the hub called Coreheim, where all players gather. There you can search for skilled allies or just trade with them to get important resources.
However, it’s not just Sorgoth’s minions that bother you, but also the influences known from other survival games, such as hunger, thirst and the weather.
However, opposing players are not a problem, there is no PvP. The developers emphasize that it should always be positive when you meet a strange player. For example, you share resources when you cut down a tree together.
We have already been able to test Coreborn and tell you our opinion on the game in the following article:
Steam: Coreborn wants to be the WoW of survival MMOs – We played it
How about the release? Coreborn has been in Early Access since yesterday and can currently be purchased at a 24 percent discount. The title therefore only costs 18.99 euros instead of 24.99 euros.
For the full release, the game should be Free2Play and offer an in-game shop that should contain items of a purely cosmetic nature.
The team wants to work closely with the community during the Early Access phase and implement fan feedback. The developers expect the game to stay in Early Access for about a year or two.
