A Chinese woman has been arrested in Germany, suspected of spying against the country’s defense industry.

The suspect has worked at a logistics company, including at Leipzig/Halle airport. The suspicions that she has had assignments as an agent for a Chinese intelligence service are strong, the prosecutors state in a statement.

She is accused of gathering information about the transport of military equipment and people connected to a German arms company.

From mid-2023 until February of this year, she is said to have repeatedly sent information about flight departures, cargo and passengers at the airport to an employee of a Chinese intelligence service who will also be charged.

  • 15-year-old acquitted of murder – convicted of aggravated assault

In the district court, a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were sentenced for the murder of 16-year-old Jakob in Örkelljunga.

Both were sentenced to closed youth care for the murder.

Now the Court of Appeal changes the sentence for the 15-year-old. He is acquitted of the murder and aiding and abetting the murder and convicted of aggravated assault.

“The sentencing value corresponds to imprisonment for seven months, but taking into account the long period of detention, youth care with the social board’s proposed youth contract is deemed to constitute a sufficiently intrusive sanction,” writes the Court of Appeal for Skåne and Blekinge in a statement.

Karoline Fridolf is an adviser to the Court of Appeal.

    – The fact that the younger of the defendants did not in any way participate in the violence on the stairs but left the scene almost immediately means that it is not proven that he was indifferent to the fact that the 16-year-old would die from the injuries from the stabbing, she says.

The Court of Appeal confirms the sentence against the 16-year-old who is convicted of murder.

In other respects, the Court of Appeal makes largely the same assessment as the district court made regarding the course of events.

Jakob was attacked and stabbed in an underpass in January.
