BTK prepared the fiber infrastructure strategy for 2024-2028: 600 thousand km fiber target, cyber security measures and conscious internet use trainings were planned.

In this context, the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK) developed the draft fiber infrastructure strategy plan covering the years 2024-2028.
BTK’s Fiber Infrastructure Vision
BTK aims to increase Turkey’s fiber infrastructure to 600 thousand kilometers by 2024. This target aims to expand further and reach 850 thousand kilometers by 2028. This expansion aims to strengthen the country’s digital infrastructure.
Cyber Security and Consumer Rights are Priority
In the strategy plan, cyber security and protection of consumer rights have an important place, as well as infrastructure expansion. BTK plans to take and strengthen the necessary measures in these areas.
Access Rates and Mobile Penetration
According to BTK’s strategic plan, the access rate to fiber infrastructure in Turkey is expected to increase to 35% by the end of 2024. In addition, increasing the mobile penetration rate to over 90% is among the targets.
Conscious and Safe Internet Use Will Increase
BTK aims to increase the number of users using secure internet service to 40 million by the end of 2024. In addition, it aims to organize various training programs for more conscious use of technology. These trainings will enable users to use the internet more safely and effectively.

It should be noted that these documents are still at the draft stage and do not contain definitive contents. This strategy plan is a starting point created to collect opinions and suggestions from the public.
