Brynäs’ new prestige signing has signed for the SHL return – the Stanley Cup winner returns home to Sweden

Stanley Cup winner Christian Djoos is ready for Brynäs.
The 29-year-old returns to the club after nine years abroad.
“I’ve had this idea for a long time,” he says to the club’s website.

Brynäs continues to prepare for the return to the SHL. Earlier this week, the club finished with Djurgården Axel Anderssonand now they fill up even more with NHL routine.

Brynäs recruits

Christian Djoos, who won the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals in 2018, is set for a return to the club. Backen has signed a five-year contract, and most recently comes from Switzerland’s Lausanne.

Previously, he has also represented Zug as well as the NHL organizations Anaheim and Detroit.
“It really feels like the right timing now. I have had this idea for a long time, but the situation now is good for me and the feeling around the association feels extremely interesting. While building something good, I am also at the right age to be able to contribute properly,” he says to the club’s website.

Very NHL routine

Djoos was brought up in Brynäs, and has gone through the youth ranks at the club.

He is not the first player with NHL routine to return to Brynäs for next season.

In the past, the club has done with Jacob Silfverberg and Oscar Lindblomboth of which have many years in North America.
