The entire hockey world is keeping its fingers crossed for Börje Salming.
Many have sent their support to the hockey icon who suffered from ALS.
Now his former club Brynäs is also acting to help during the tough time.
Last week, attention-grabbing images of a tortured person were spread Börje Salming. In an interview with Expressen, it was revealed that the Swedish hockey icon has become drastically worse and weaker from the nerve disease ALS, which he suffered earlier this year.
Salming’s struggle
Since then, the hockey world has united in great support for the 71-year-old and several hockey profiles want to help during the tough time for the Salming family. Nicklas Lidström is one of those who will help and collect money and several old teammates have reached out to help their favorite Swede.
Now the legend’s former club Brynäs IF will also do its utmost to help and make everyday life easier. Börje Salming began his hockey journey in the mother club Kiruna AIF but would have his big breakthrough in Brynäs in the early 70s with two straight SM golds.

Brynä’s gesture
Then the career continued to North America and 17 seasons in the NHL with 787 points in 1,148 games. Brynäs writes in an official press release that they have received a lot of requests for both collection and tribute to Salming.
Now the SHL team chooses to act to help their club icon who is going through a very tough situation.
“In the past week, Brynäs IF has received numerous requests for collection and tribute to Börje”, writes Brynäs on its official website.
“For a long time, the association has had conversations with Börje, his family and with the foundation that has now been established. We have a plan together for what we are going to do but unfortunately cannot say more than that at the moment, but ask to come back with more information in the future”.
