Brynäs beat the Redhawks – ready for the first SM semi since 2017

Malmö Redhawks was pressed to win match six against Brynäs to stay in the season. The score was 3-2 in matches in Brynäs favor.

Then Malmö gathered and sold out the entire arena.

When the puck was then released, it was long an even event that followed, although Brynäs created the hottest chances and had the most shots on goal.

Delicious management goal

With 04:45, however, Brynäs broke the deadlock – and they did it in a delicious way.

Anton Rödin held puck behind the extended finish line and looked for alternatives to fit. Then Theo Lindstein appeared on an open surface in front of goal and got the pass. The 20-year-old hill then responded by aiming and pushing 1-0 in Oskar Blomgren’s left cross.

The goal was Lindstein’s first goal ever in an SM finals.

– It was damn nice. It was a good pass of “red”, so it was just aiming. Nice that it went in, says Lindstein after the first period.

Tear start in the second period

Brynäs began the second period spicy.

Two minutes into, Christoffer Forsberg drew an expulsion for tripping – and Brynäs was exploiting it. In the subsequent numerical superiority, the guests had a control in the post.

The 2-0 goal instead came five minutes later. Theo Lindstein found – from his own roundel – Linus Ölund behind Malmö’s slopes with a nice pass and released the forward with Blomgren in the Malmö goal. Ölund made no mistakes, but extended Brynäs’s lead with a well -placed ending.

– I had already decided before the last match that I would shoot in the “old man” if I came free. I was a little frustrated then and said it to Ohlsson (Anton, ed.). So it was fun that it sat, says Ölund after the second period to TV4.

But Malmö responded quickly. With half the second period played, Lassi Thomson struck in numerical superiority through a direct shot from the left drawing circle. The goal was the slope’s third in the finals.

Cold shower

When Malmö then was in a strong period and pressed for a receipt, Brynäs scored a lead -heavy goal with 47 seconds left of the second period. Oskar Lindblom stood right in front of Malmö’s goal and pushed the return on a shot from Viktor Söderström.

Instead of 2-1, a pressed Malmö thus got into the third period in a two-goal sub.

Clear for the first semi -finals since 2017

41 seconds into the third period, Malmö nerve created in the match when Robin Salo received a reduction to 2-3. But three minutes later, Oskar Lindblom took cabbage on the match when he set 4-2 with his second goal of the day.

Malmö then tried to get another reduction – without success. This despite the fact that Brynäs was forced to change the goalkeeper halfway into the third period when Ludvig Persson ended up wrong in a turn. The Brynäs keeper had to be led by the ice, which was, to say the least, worrying pictures for the Gävlelaget and their supporters.

Brynäs eventually won the match 2-5, after Greg Scott set the final result in the open goal. This means that the basic series winner is ready for its first SM semi-final since 2017.

Which team awaits in the semi -finals is unclear at the time of writing.
