The multiverse Marvel spectacle Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness brings us different variants of Stephen Strange, Wanda Maximoff and even Christine Palmer. One character that is mysteriously absent is the original MCU version of Zauberer murder (Chiwetel Ejiofor).
Doctor Strange 2 leaves us with a few questions and, in the end, still owes us an answer to the fate of Universe 616’s Mordo, who turned villain in the first Doctor Strange’s post-credits scene. In fact, he is said to have appeared in Multiverse of Madness: in one deleted scene showing his shocking death.
Doctor Strange 2 was supposed to start with Mordo’s death
According to The Direct, YouTuber Heavy Spoilers, well-known in the leaker scene, recently drew attention to the removed scene, which was first published in a video last summer Doctor Strange 2 plot leak (via Reddit) was mentioned. And this leak is pretty close to what’s been in cinemas since the beginning.
An opening sequence, which is not seen in the final film, should tie directly to the predecessor and bring back the magician-killing wizard. One dark encounter between MCU-Mordo and Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) would have left no questions unanswered about his fate. Because the following is said to have happened in the removed scene:

Mordo in Doctor Strange
Armed with a magic bow and aiming to kill her, Mordo pays a visit to Wanda. The setting: your lonely cabin in the fiery and burned forest. But he reckoned without the Darkhold-corrupted Scarlet Witch, who summarily decapitated him.
That brutal opening scene would have Wanda’s status as villain right at the start shockingly illustrated. In the finished film, her dark and murderous side is only revealed after almost 20 minutes.

That the Mordo murder scene actually exists and was removed from the film is not officially confirmed. However, one of the many published posters suggests so. That’s what fans want excerpt of this scene including Wanda’s burned hut and maybe even MCU murder:

The home theater release of Doctor Strange 2 is set to bring us some cut scenes as bonus material, director Sam Raimi hinted at in an interview with Collider. Now it’s time to keep your fingers crossed that Wanda’s murder murder may also be included.
And who knows: maybe Marvel had this death removed to bring back Mordo as a nasty antagonist in a third Doctor Strange adventure.
