The two actors Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment celebrated worldwide success with The Sixth Sense by M. Night Shyamalan. Their friendship apparently lasted for years.
To mark the anniversary, The Sixth Sense star spoke about working with Bruce Willis
Entertainment Weekly conducted an interview with Haley Joel Osment in September to mark the 25th anniversary of The Sixth Sense (1999). The then child actor took over alongside Bruce Willis the second main role
in the film.
In this conversation, Haley Joel Osment revealed that there was apparently a friendship between him and his former actor colleague on the set of The Sixth Sense was created:
I heard a lot about [Bruce] in the years that followed. He left voice messages at our house from time to time to inquire. He just called out of the bluesometimes in advance of a trip.

Apparently the contact continued for a long time after filming of The Sixth Sense had long since been completed:
If I remember correctly, we traveled to Japan together twice to present Sixth Sense in different cities. So he’d call ahead, and sometimes I’d just come home from school and the answering machine would flash and he’d say, ‘Hey, Haley Joel. I just wanted to say hello.’
Haley Joel Osment continued to describe that he already a big fan when he first met Bruce Willis and had seen many of his films. He valued the ongoing contact with his colleague:
I need to find the old answering machine tapes. I know we kept them. I know his daughters a little, but I haven’t spoken to him in recent years since the news about his health.
In March 2022, it was revealed that Bruce Willis has aphasia. This original diagnosis has now developed into a form of dementia for the actor. For this reason Bruce Willis has retired from the acting business.
But the memory of the actor is still very present. In the interview with Entertainment Weekly, Haley Joel Osment enthusiastically talked about working with Bruce Willis and how much he gained from the experience together.
