At a press conference at the governor’s residence in Jönköping on Thursday afternoon, Minister of Civil Affairs Erik Slottner (KD) presented the county’s new governor.
– Brittis Benzler has been a valued governor in Halland County and I am happy that she has accepted a new assignment as governor in Jönköping County, says Minister of Civil Affairs Erik Slottner in a press release.
Member of the Left Party’s board
Brittis Benzler was born in 1958 and during the years 1993-2020 was a member of the Left Party’s board. She has also been group leader for the regional council on Gotland for more than 20 years and regional council on Gotland for 12 years.
Her appointment as governor of Jönköping County applies from January 15 next year until November 30, 2027.
Current Governor Helena Jonsson has held the position since 2018.
