The amounts of rain that have come have caused this in several parts of the country.
In one place, a plot of land has even become more of a lake.
– If we want to get somewhere, we have to wade, he says Britt-Marie Zaunschrim in Södra Dylta.
When Britt-Marie Zaunschrim in Södra Dylta outside Örebro woke up one morning, the world outside was not quite as usual.
Outside her window, instead of her usual garden of bushes and grass, there was something of a lake.
The heavy rain and subsequent floods that affected parts of Sweden in recent weeks had now also affected Britt-Marie.
– We have a lot of water, it is surrounded on all sides. It’s a little wet. We will not pass. If we’re going to get somewhere, we have to wade, she says to Efter fem.
The lot was flooded to such an extent that there was only a dry patch left. Fortunately, the residential building stands on that particular patch, which is slightly elevated in relation to the rest of the plot.
Lack of fresh produce in the fridge
However, there are a couple of sheds further down the plot that were not as lucky. One of them is in the danger zone for having sustained serious water damage.
– But we won’t get there, because there is water in the way, says Britt-Marie.
On the lot, sorry lake, the family now gets to take the canoe and paddle around to try and catch things that have floated away.
She hopes that the water will recede by the end of the week so they can take the car and go shopping.
– Right now there is a bit of a shortage of fresh produce, says Britt-Marie.
