Everyone over the age of 50 will be offered a fourth dose of covid-19 vaccine, the British government has announced. This means that the age limit is now lowered, from the previous 65 years.

Healthcare staff and everyone over the age of five who belong to the risk group are also covered by the offer.

The fourth dose means that the British will cope better in the autumn and winter, according to Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

“Vaccines were our way out of the pandemic, and now these will ensure that covid can never torment us in the same way again,” he said.

Like several other countries in Europe, the United Kingdom has recently seen an increase in new covid cases.
