Andrew Musgrave was in the lead group led by the Norwegians on Wednesday in Oberstdorf until he crashed on the final hill. Musgrave gave a full-back to France’s Clement Parise.
British skier Andrew Musgrave was caught for a long time on Wednesday in the 20 km pursuit race in the battle for victory in Oberstdorf on the Tour de Ski tour. However, Musgrave’s race was ruined on the last climb.
– A large crowd gathered for the last ascent. I tried to defend my position so that no one would pass. Someone tried though. Both crashed and fell far from the top, Musgrave explained after the competition to Aftonbladet (you switch to another service).
Musgrave got really hot in an interview about the situation. In the end, Musgrave was 20th in the race.
– I thought that he (who hit Musgrave) is an idiot. It was really idiotic. It was someone French or Italian. I only saw the legs. Damn idiot, Musgrave snapped.
The TV images only show Musgrave momentarily staggering out of the TV images. According to Expressen, the skier who hit Musgrave was French Clement Parisse.
– I don’t feel like an idiot, Parisse describes to Expressen (you switch to another service).
– There was a small gap for me. I tried to pass Andrew, but then he closed the space on me. He can watch a replay of the situation and see what happened. I haven’t had time to talk to him.
Earlier this winter in Beitostölen, Musgrave returned to the podium after a five-year break.
He won the competition Johannes Hösflot Kläbo, who also continues to lead the men’s overall competition. The best Finn was in 30th place Perttu Hyvärinen.
