British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe’s company Ineos is also in the fight to become United’s new owner. According to several media, he has made an offer to buy roughly 50 percent of the shares in the clubs. In addition, he will also offer the Glazer family to retain a 20 percent stake.
The record sum for the purchase of a sports club is $6 billion, which equates to around £4.8 billion. That’s the price that has been agreed upon for the upcoming ownership change of the NFL team Washington Commanders.
