Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan says ‘no’ to successor Sophie in season 4

Season 3 finally puts Penelope Featherington in the spotlight of Bridgerton. In order to give her a romantic chance sooner, the fourth book in the 8-part novel series was even brought forward as the third season. But what many fans are already wondering is, which of the Bridgerton siblings will own season 4It would be logical to skip the brother Benedict (Luke Thompson) as the next main character, who in his novel How to Seduce a Lord? * a Cinderella story with a certain Sophie experienced.

Fans even found a hint in an Instagram set photo of Pen actress Nicola Coughlan, where in the very last photo a post-it note with the name “Sophie” is stuck to the mirror:

However, the actress who plays Penelope aka Lady Whistledown has now personally refuted the fact that the note is actually a reference to the introduction of a Sophie von Benedict love story in the second part of season 3 in a comment on her post: “LOLLL, no, that’s just Sophie Burton’s makeup table.”

Bridgerton season 4 can still revolve around Benedict and Sophie

Just because the note doesn’t belong to the future Bridgerton character doesn’t necessarily mean that the Benedict and Sophie romance is out of the running for season 4. Nicola Coughlan simply explained that her photo wasn’t a real clue.

But since it is already clear that the series does not have to stick to the book order, Eloise and Francesca’s Bridgerton novels are just as good options. TV Insider revealed showrunner Jess Brownell: “I think there are a few Clues at the end of season 3that reveal where we’re going next.” We should be thrilled.
