The bridge, which connects Märsön and Uppland’s mainland, has suffered damage that means it cannot be closed, which in turn has led to a complete standstill on national highway 55.
Traffic will be diverted via E18 or national highway 56. The Swedish Traffic Agency currently has no forecast for when the bridge can be closed again.
How the sailing took place is still unclear.
