Teenagers Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe murdered Brianna Ghey.

After the life sentence, the British media for the first time shows their faces.

– They are evil monsters, says Brianna’s father.

The two teenagers who murdered 16-year-old Tiktok star Brianna Ghey in Warrington, UK, last February were sentenced on Friday to life in prison for the murder, writes Daily Mail.

Information has circulated that the motive may have been based on a hate crime because Brianna Ghey was transsexual. The case has received a lot of publicity in the British media and the identities of the teenagers have so far been kept secret.

But now the two killers who are called “monsters” are being named in the British press.

Went to the same school

Scarlett Jenkinson and Eddie Ratcliffe, both 16 years old, were obsessed with serial killers and the idea of killing themselves.

The teenagers concocted a detailed murder plan before luring Brianna to a park and stabbing her 28 times with a hunting knife.

Jenkinson and Ratcliffe are said to have been friends since they were little and went to school together. Later, Jenkinson changed school to Birchwood Community High School where Brianna Ghey was also a student.

“Her name is Brianna. I don’t know how to explain. She has a k*k, lol,” Jenkinson writes in a message to Ratcliffe.

Obsessed with killing

In text messages between Jenkinson and Ratcliffe, you can read how the two teenagers soon become obsessed with the idea of killing Brianna.

Jenkinsson writes how she once tried to kill Brianna by making her overdose on painkillers.

“People already know she’s depressed and shit. No one would be suspicious,” Jenkinson writes.

After the assassination attempt fails, the two continue to discuss different options to kill the 16-year-old. Finally, Jenkinson writes:

“Let’s just stab her. It’s more fun.”

To which Ratcliffe replies: “Ok”.

On February 3, Jenkinson sent Ratcliffe a picture of a handwritten note that read: “Saturday February 11, 2023. Victim: Brianna Ghey.”

Big commitment

Part of the evidence presented during the trial included a “death list” in which the two teenagers named four other children, in addition to Brianna. The evidence against the teenagers included thousands of text messages and chat messages in which they plan how to go about killing their victims.

That the murder of Brianna must be based on a hate crime is not confirmed in today’s verdict.

In the UK and internationally, the case has sparked great engagement within the LGBTQI movement. Brianna Ghey has been honored on social media and several large protests have been held in her honor in London, Belfast, Brighton, Dublin and Manchester, among others.

Brianna Ghey’s mother calls her daughter a beautiful, strong and fearless young girl who owned the right to be who she wanted to be.
