On the first day of the National Track Cycling Championships, the men’s two kilometer title went to Harrie Lavreysen. The two-time Olympic champion (sprint and team sprint) was the clear favorite for gold in the absence of his major competitor in the kilometer, Jeffrey Hoogland. Daan Kool finished second, Tijmen van Loon captured bronze.
