The attack on the US base on the Jordan-Syria border with a UAV caused a new crisis in the Middle East. After the attack in which 3 soldiers died and 34 soldiers were injured, a pro-Iran Shiite group claimed responsibility for the attack.
STATEMENT FROM BIDEN
The world was closely following how the USA would respond to this attack. After the successive statements, another statement came from US President Joe Biden.
“WE ARE NOT AFFORDING THIS”
US President Biden answered questions from members of the press about the agenda while leaving the White House for the election campaign in Florida.
Biden said that they decided how to respond to the attack on the American base on the Syria-Jordan border.
Asked whether they see Iran as responsible for the attack, he said: “I hold them (Iran) responsible for providing the weapons to the people who carried out this attack.” Answering the question of whether he would hold Iran directly responsible if the attack’s direct connection with Iran is revealed, Biden said, “We will discuss this.” He responded with the following statement.
Biden continued, “I don’t think we need a broader war in the Middle East, we’re not pursuing that.” he continued.
US President Biden convened the National Security Council three times in the last two days regarding the weekend attack on the American base on the Syria-Jordan border and evaluated how his country would respond to this attack.
