Breaking news: Critical meeting between President Erdoğan and Russian President Putin

Breaking news: According to the statement made by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, during the meeting, the two leaders discussed the course of the worrying conflict between Israel and Palestine and measures to prevent the spread of tension.

During the meeting, what initiatives would be taken to meet humanitarian needs in the region were evaluated.

Emphasizing that targeting civilian settlements is worrying and that such initiatives are not welcomed by Turkey, Erdoğan also stated that Turkey will continue to make every effort to ensure tranquility in the region.

MEETING WITH THE UN SECRETARY GENERAL

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also spoke on the phone with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. During the meeting, the steps that could be taken within the framework of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict were discussed, and what could be done to deliver humanitarian aid to innocent civilians to the region through Turkey’s mediation efforts were evaluated.

Emphasizing that disproportionate attacks will lead the situation into further stalemate, Erdoğan pointed out that it is very important for the parties to act with restraint and avoid impulsive steps. (AA)
