Breaking Bad star Bob Odenkirk has remade the worst movie

Bob Odenkirk is known from Breaking Bad and the spin-off Better Call Saul. In the past few days, the actor had to affirm that his latest project is really real. Because it sounds incredible: According to Slash Film, Odenkirk is shooting a remake of what is probably the worst film of all time: The Room. But why? What’s all this about? And is this even real? We answer the most pressing questions as best as we can.

The Worst Of All Times: Which Movie Is This Actually About?

The Room was released in 2003, so this year celebrates its anniversary. The film was the passion of Tommy Wiseau, who directed, starred, wrote and produced the screenplay. The Room is perhaps the most impressive case study that emerges when a person has no talent but has relatively high budget is shooting a movie. Because The Room is not proven trash like the Asylum productions Sharknado and Co. After all, the production cost about 6 million dollars. Where Tommy Wiseau got the money from is still unknown to this day. (More film news: New Fack Ju Göthe part is coming)

One thing is certain and that is the main reason for the cult status that the film enjoys today: someone really wanted to create something here. However, The Room is done amateurishly. It consists of strange dialogues, numerous continuity errors, storylines that lead nowhere and dramatic close-ups. What is the movie about? Hard to say. You have to see it yourself. You can rent the film about The Room, The Disaster Artists by James Franco from Amazon *. You can watch the original The Room in full here:

What is known about the Bob Odenkirk remake?

First of all: Yes, the project really exists. Bob Odenkirk filmed The Room remake last January. He embodies the main character Johnny from Tommy Wiseau. Australian actress Bella Heathcote (Fifty Shades 2) reportedly took on the co-lead role for Lisa, originally played by Juliette Danielle. Most of the shooting probably took place in front of a green screen.

The Room, the original

As senseless as all this may sound at first, the opposite is the case: there is one behind the project Organization fundraiser Acting For a Cause. The remake is intended to raise money for AIDS research. It is not known how long the film is, whether it possibly reenacts every scene of the original or whether it has more of a sketch duration. There is also no start date yet. Incidentally, Wiseau himself has not been informed about the remake.
