President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has been dismissed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Army Julio Cesar de Arruda because of the riots at the beginning of January.

Arruda assumed command of the armed forces on December 30, just two days before Bolsonaro left office in the New Year.
According to the Brazilian Globonews channel, he will become the new commander of the armed forces Tomas Ribeiro Paivawho has served as the commander of the mass division of the armed forces in the south-eastern parts of the country.
