Two activists from the Movement of Landless Rural Workers (MST), a famous Brazilian peasant organization working for a fairer distribution of arable land, were shot dead on the night of Friday January 10 to Saturday January 11, during an attack which also injured six people in Tremembé, in the state of São Paulo. A possible sponsor was arrested on Saturday.
