Some brazen thieves stole a gun safe containing bullets and shotguns in broad daylight from a stairwell in Östersund. A neighbor saw the thieves load the gun safe into a garbage can and take it out with them, reports SVT Nyheter Jämtland.
The owner of the gun safe is moving and had hired a company to take furniture and the gun safe to storage.
The company did not accept the gun safe, and therefore it was driven back to the address on Thursday. But since he was not at home, the moving company put the locker in the stairwell, from where it thus disappeared.
The owner is suspected of violating the Weapons Act, as a gun safe may not be left in a stairwell.
