A News Release Issued by Brantford Fire Said Leonard Black and a Numbed Ontario Company, Owners of the Market Street Business, Pleaded Guilty to Several Fire Code Infractions Found During An Inspection on Jan. 11, 2024.
The violations include Failure to Ensure Portable Fire Extinguishers Were Inspected Annually; Failure to conduct the annual inspection and testing of the fire alarm system; And Failure to Complete the Semi-Annual Inspection of the Commercial Kitchen Ventilation and Fire Delete System. Black Was Fined $ 4,000 shorter Costs and 907602 Ontario Inc. Was Given A suspended sentence in Provincial offer short on Jan. 28.
“These highlight convictions the importance of complying with the Ontario Fire Code Daily,” Said Dwayne Armstrong, Deputy Fire Chief. “The Goal of Property Inspections is to ensure occupant Safety through Education and Enforcement of Regulations Detailed in the Ontario Fire Code and the Fire Protection and Prevention Act.
“The Brantford Fire Department reminds Property and Business Owners that they are required to be in compliance with the Ontario Fire code at all Times and Failure to do so can result in size fine.”
