Brantford woman planning trip after lottery win

A Brantford woman is planning a trip to Cuba after winning a $300,000 top prize in the Instant Jumbo Cash game.

Betty Brewer, a regular lottery player, purchased her winning ticket at Dundas Variety & Laundromat on Dundas Street in Brantford.

“I scratched my ticket, and I was so shocked when I saw $300,000,” Brewer told Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation officials when she picked up her prize. “I called my friend and told her to grab a pen and paper and write down the prize amount – I asked her to confirm what the number was, and she confirmed it was $300,000.

“I was amazed by my luck.”

Brewer was so happy she was shaking.

“I told my son, and he was so happy for me,” she smiled. “He always told me that I would win one day, and I did!”

Brewer, a mother and grandmother, plans to invest her winnings and travel to Cuba.
