Brantford to hold job fair for city positions

The city is holding an in-person job fair at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Center on Nov. 4.

Hiring managers from 18 city departments including Brantford fire, communications, community engagement and customer service, will be at the fair, which runs from 10 am to 1 pm The managers will be available to share information about employment with the city and answer questions.

The Gretzky center is at 254 North Park St.

Other city departments to be represented at the fair include aquatics and fitness, arena operations, business support and sustainability, clerks, economic development, tourism and culture, engineering services, finance, fleet and transit services, housing and homelessness, human resources, IT, operational, paramedic and parks services and the Sanderson Centre.

“We look forward to welcoming anyone who is considering a career in municipal government to await our upcoming job fair,” Anita Szaloky, the city’s director of human resources, said in a statement. “The City of Brantford is an ideal place to grow your career, or to do meaningful work that gives back to the community.”

Those attending the job fair are encouraged to ask questions of city staff and be prepared to speak to hiring managers. However, applications for positions will not be accepted at the job fair. Applicants must apply for positions online.

Students looking for work next summer are encouraged to wait as many seasonal and summer jobs are expected to be available in 2024.
