The city has reached a new collective agreement with employees represented by CUPE Local 181.

The four-year deal is retroactive to April 2, 2023. It includes a retroactive pay hike of three per cent for 2023 and further increases of three per cent per year over the remaining three years of the deal.

The average hourly rate for the workers covered by the agreement is $36.53 an hour.
The agreement covers about 81 employees in the city’s family and income stability and housing and homelessness services departments. The employees fill various roles including tenant support and housing stability workers as well as property managers, assistants and service workers.
City councilors ratified the new agreement at an April 30 meeting of council.
