There’s just one problem and police are hoping the younger members of the community can help solve it.
The new recruit needs a name.
“Soon, we will be launching a contest for our community’s youth to provide their suggestions for a great mascot name,” Robin Matthews-Osmond, corporate communications’s manager for Brantford police, said in a statement Friday
Meanwhile, residents are urged to keep an eye out for the service’s new crime fighting canine friend.
Matthews-Osmond said the new mascot will be making appearances at various local community events to meet people and help them think of a fitting name.
“Let’s have fun and be creative as we welcome our ‘soon-to-named’ mascot,” Matthews-Osmond said.
When available, contest details, including how to enter, will be posted on social media and on the Brantford Police website – www.brantfordpolice.ca.
