A Brantford man has been charged with using a firearm to allegedly threaten a stranger on the street.
Police received a 911 call on Saturday at about 5:20 pm reporting an armed man was threatening another man in the area of Stanley and Darling streets.
Police say the victim didn’t sustain any physical injuries.
When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect had reportedly gone into a house in the area. Surveillance video from a local business indicated he may have left the area.
The area was then closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic while police searched for the suspect. He was found in a Darling Street residence and taken into custody. Police say the weapon wasn’t located.
A 30-year-old has been charged with assault with a weapon; carry concealed weapon; and failure to comply with judicial order.
He was held for bail.
