Brantford man charged in 100000 theft

Brant County OPP say an investigation into the removal of numerous catalytic converters has successfully recovered $100,000 in stolen property.

After getting a report of the thefts from multiple vehicles parked at an Airport Road business on Aug. 2, the OPP banded together with Haldimand and Middlesex community street crime units located the converters.

Mississauga OPP members assisted the investigators with a traffic stop and one person was arrested. The stolen converters were recovered.

A 24-year-old from Brantford has been charged with break and enter and possession of property over $5,000 obtained by crime, has been released from police custody and will appear in Brantford court later.
