Brant OPP seeking dash cam footage of Oct. 11 collision

Brant OPP is hoping someone has dash cam footage of an Oct. 11, 2024 single vehicle collision on Highway 403.

The collision occurred at 9:41 pm when a westbound sedan crossed into the median and came to a stop in the eastbound lanes on Highway 403 near Garden Avenue.

A passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported by paramedics to a trauma center. The passenger is recovering, Const. Jonathan Bueckert, of Brant OPP, said.

Bueckert said two other passengers sustained minor injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team.

Dash cam footage or information from witnesses is crucial to establishing a clearer picture of the events that led to the collision, Bueckert said in the statement.

Impaired driving charge after Haldimand crash

An 18-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with drinking and driving offenses following a Jan. 3 single-vehicle collision in Haldimand County.

Haldimand OPP officers were sent to investigate a collision on Highway 6, Walpole, at about 11:30 am

Upon arrival, officers found that one vehicle was involved in the collision.

Police subsequently charged the driver with impaired driving, driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his blood and having a blood-alcohol level above zero as a novice driver.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on Feb. 18, 2025.

Break and enter

Oxford OPP is investigating a break-in at a Highway 59 business in Norwich Township.

The break-in took place sometime between 3 pm Jan. 4 and 12:30 pm Jan. 6, Oxford OPP say.

The building was damaged and several items of golf equipment were stolen.
