“By investing in the fundraising campaign you are investing in an inclusive, supportive and vibrant community that values the contributions and well-being of our entire population,” said Mayor David Bailey.

The new building will have space for indoor and outdoor recreation, social activities, family gatherings, and cultural and arts activities. It will also be home to the Paris Lawn Bowling Club and the Paris Seniors Club 99.

The center, which will overlook the Grand River, is designed to a net zero standard, producing as much clean energy as it consumes. The single-storey building will have about 2,055-square-feet of indoor space, including a multi-purpose large room with capacity for 60 people, a wall memorabilia display case and a kitchenette. There will be an outdoor covered patio and barbeque space overlooking eight outdoor cabanas.

“In this phase of the campaign we are looking for supporters who are able to make a significant investment in the community,” said Bailey, adding he will be making an announcement about “a very generous gift” the county recently received.

There are several naming opportunities still available for the center.
