Brain-eating amoeba panic in Israel! One person died, dozens rushed to hospital: Chance of survival is extremely low

Local media reported that two people swimming in a water park in northern Israel were diagnosed with the brain-eating amoeba.

It was stated that the 25-year-old man among these people died, and the 10-year-old child, whose condition is serious, is still being treated in hospital.

It was reported that the Ministry of Health ordered the closure of the water park in question. It was also reported that the Ministry asked people who visited the park in the last two weeks and who have complaints such as fever, headache or vomiting to contact health institutions.

It was reported that more than 100 people applied to the hospital.

THE PROBABILITY OF SURVIVAL IS EXTREMELY LOW

The amoeba called “Naegleria fowleri” enters the brain through the nose. Experts say that the probability of survival of people infected with this type of amoeba is extremely low.
