Brad Pitt isn’t the only superstar in the action hit

Brad Pitt isnt the only superstar in the action hit

Who is Brad Pitt beating up? And who is beating him up? In Bullet Train, the star is a hitman on a Japanese express train. There he meets a whole horde of professional killers, but they have different goals than he does. David Leitch’s action hit hits theaters this week. The ex-stuntman and martial arts specialist has been making films himself since 2014. The smaller, standalone John Wick and Atomic Blonde were followed by the blockbusters Deadpool 2 and Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw. (Little fun fact: Leitch acted as Brad Pitt’s stunt double several times)

Bullet Train – Trailer 3 (German) HD

Bullet Train combines the best of both worlds: an original story on the one hand, and a big budget on the other. And of course very (!) many stars. We provide them occupation before, which is outshined by Brad Pitt, but would be absolutely worth seeing even without the superstar. What we won’t reveal here: The many cameo appearances. After all, they should surprise you.

Bullet Train cast: Brad Pitt plays Ladybug

Brad Pitt as Ladybug

The professional killer is on a journey of self-discovery and self-improvement. Which does not change his high level of competence, but he is plagued by a streak of bad luck. The role is reminiscent of various self-deprecating Deadpool variations Ryan Reynolds has played in the recent past. Ladybug regularly talks to his client Maria Beetle on the phone.

    Sandra Bullock as Maria Beetle

Maria Beetle always offers her sympathetic ear for Ladybug’s whining and keeps him on his toes. Sandra Bullock is (almost) only voiced in Bullet Train, which means German audiences are largely left behind. The good news: Bullock’s regular German spokeswoman Bettina Weiß is also here.

Bullet Train Cast: Bryan Tyree Henry as Lemon

    Bryan Tyree Henry as Lemon

You may have seen Brian Tyree Henry last in the Marvel blockbuster Eternals seen as one of the heroes. However, he made his breakthrough as rapper Paperboi in the acclaimed comedy Atlanta. In Bullet Train, he plays part of the hitman duo that stands in the way of Brad Pitt’s character.

Bullet Train Cast: Aaron Taylor Johnson as Tangerine

    Aaron Taylor Johnson as Tangerine

The next MCU and Marvel star. Aaron Taylor-Johnson rose to fame as Kick-Ass and then transitioned into a film as Quicksilver into the MCU (Avengers: Age of Ultron). Since then he has appeared in major blockbusters time and again. Most recently in Tenet. His Tangerine is Lemon’s brother.

Cast of Bullet Train: Zazie Beetz plays Hornet

    Zazie Beetz as Hornet

Speaking of Marvel stars, here’s the next actress with Marvel marks on her resume. Zazie Beetz played the heroine in Deadpool 2 domino. She is also one of the main actresses in Atlanta, along with her colleague Brian Tyree Henry, see above. In Bullet Train she plays the assassin Hornet. By the way: Beetz is German-American and grew up in both New York and Berlin.

Bullet Train cast: Andrew Koji plays Kimura

    Andrew Koji as Kimura

From the Marvel block we come to the martial arts stars. Andrew Koji has been training since he was young Taekwondo and Shaolin Kung Fu. The Brit was a stunt double for a long time (e.g. in Fast and Furious 6) before he made his breakthrough as an actor with the martial arts series Warrior. In Bullet Train he doesn’t (!) play a contract killer, but a desperate father who is being blackmailed by gangsters.

Cast of Bullet Train: Hiroyuki Sanada plays Elder

    Hiroyuki Sanada as Elder

You will be extremely familiar with the face, but you may not have been able to associate it with the name Hiroyuki Sanada before. The Japanese has appeared in *take a deep breath* The Wolverine, The Last Samurai, Rush Hour 3, Westworld, Mortal Kombat and 47 Ronin, and these are just a selection of his martial arts roles. Soon you can admire him in John Wick 4. In Bullet Train, as the father of Kimura (above), he pokes fun at his wise and calm demeanor.

Bullet Train cast: Michael Shannon plays the White Death

    Michael Shannon as White Death

Michael Shannon is a classic character and supporting actor, but he keeps reprising roles in major blockbusters. That’s why you know him from insider tips like Midnight Special. Or as General Zod in the DC film Man of Steel. In Bullet Train he plays the seemingly overpowering villain White Death.

Cast of Bullet Train: Joey King plays Prince

    Joey King as Prince

There shouldn’t be too many actresses who get more Netflix views than Joey King. King played Elle Evans three times in the Kissing Booth series. Otherwise you know the 23-year-old former child actress from The Dark Knight Rises (young Talia al Ghul), Conjuring and the first season Fargo. In Bullet Train, she plays with her image of the good schoolgirl and embodies the wily Prince, who fools the entire train.

Bullet Train cast: Logan Lerman plays the son

    ©Sony

    Logan Lerman as the son

The Maybe Rather Tomorrow actor and Percy Jackson star is hardly recognizable in Bullet Train. He has a full beard and later even grotesquely large glasses, see above. He embodies the son of the White Death.

Cast of Bullet Train: Bad Bunny plays Wolf

    ©Sony

    Bad Bunny as a wolf

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is a rapper, professional wrestler and actor who also makes his mark great social commitment excellent. In Bullet Train, the 28-year-old gets an intense performance as a gangster wolf on a vendetta that also bypasses Brad Pitt (literally).

Bullet Train runs from August 4, 2022 in German cinemas.
