BRÅ: Lack of experience to stop the bloody wave of violence

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The police lacks enough experienced personnel who can work to investigate murders linked to gang crime. This is shown in a new report from the Crime Prevention Council (Brå).

The report states that the police have the basic functions needed to investigate gang murders, but the staff resources with experience are too few to be used. According to Brå, more training efforts are needed to increase competence.

– It also affects the endurance of the investigations, you cannot work in peace in an investigation because after a while a new case comes up. What they testify to is that it is a tense situation all the time, says Jonas Öberg, investigator at the Crime Prevention Council.
