BRA applies for reconstruction

The Swedish airline Bra applies for corporate restructuring – again.
But according to a press release, it will not affect travelers.
– This time we will continue our business as usual and customers will not be affected, says Ulrika Matsgård, CEO at BRA.

For the second time, Bra is applying for a corporate restructuring.

The last time the Swedish airline underwent a reconstruction was during the pandemic. Then the company froze its operations for 13 months, until it was possible to travel again.

Now the situation looks different, says the company’s CEO.

– Today’s situation is completely different from the one that prevailed during the pandemic when travel was, by and large, non-existent. This time we will continue our business as usual and customers will not be affected, says Ulrika Matsgård.

“A series of unfortunate factors”

The airline states that they have been strongly negatively affected by the current recession and the weak krona.

– Right now, a number of unfortunate factors have put us in a difficult situation. Making the decision we have now made is necessary to take responsibility for the jobs, the aviation infrastructure in Sweden and the business in the long term, says Per G. Braathen, chairman of the board and owner of BRA in the press release.

The owners state that they are willing to inject new capital to achieve a successful reconstruction process.
