(Finance) – S&P assigned a Bper Bank the long-term and short-term issuer rating “BBB-/A-3”. The outlook is positive.
The ratings, explained the agency, “benefit from its well-diversified and consolidated position at a national level in Italy and its solid asset quality and capital position. With approximately 145 billion euros in total assets, Bper is the fifth largest Italian bank , deeply rooted in the richest regions of Northern Italy and with a strong presence in the rest of the country”.
“The positive outlook – explains S&P – reflects the possibility of an upgrade of Bper in the next 18-24 months, if the bank continues to obtain better results than peers with similar ratings, demonstrating resilient asset quality metrics and profitability adjusted for the risk incurred, while preserving one’s solvency”.
