Two boys, nine and twelve years old, have been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a landslide on a beach in Denmark, several media reports.
The boys are said to have been building a cave when large amounts of sand collapsed and buried the boys.
The accident happened on Sunday afternoon on a beach at Nørre Vorupør in Thy, Denmark.
The boys, who were both tourists from Germany, were reportedly building a cave when the roof collapsed.
Emergency services were called and after about 40 minutes they managed to dig out the two lifeless boys, who were taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter.
“Acute” damage mode
The condition of the boys’ injuries is currently unclear, but according to the rescue service, the situation was “urgent” when they were flown from the accident site.
According to DR, the boys come from two different German families. The parents were also flown to hospital.
According to the police, there were many people at the scene when the accident occurred.
