Amersfoort – How could a relaxed, late night walk by three young friends through Amersfoort turn into a bloody stabbing incident that could have been fatal? That was the big question today in court where a 21-year-old Utrechter was on trial for attempted murder of his girlfriend’s cousin. The boy was stabbed in the back from behind just below his shoulder blade after an argument over a phone. According to the public prosecutor, this could have been fatal if the victim had hit his heart, lung or a blood vessel.
