A four-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman have been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a scooter accident at Storön in Kalix, local media reports.
The boy is being cared for in the intensive care unit.
NSD writes that the gas must have got stuck on the scooter and that it therefore ran out of control.
The police are involved in the case, but there is currently no suspicion of any crime.
The accident happened on Tuesday afternoon.
